DC Roundtable - Opportunities to Serve Pro Bono & Median-Income Clients in the DC Metro Area

What are the legal needs of the underserved? How can you use your training and skills to help people in need while meeting your ethical obligation and duty as a lawyer? To answer these and other questions you may have, this program convenes representatives from:

• DC Bar Pro Bono Center - Services offered include bankruptcy clinic, family law assistance, immigration legal advice & referral clinic, and nonprofit and small business legal assistance. Presenter: Christine Kulumni.

• Maryland Pro Bono Resource Center – serves clients seeking legal advice in such areas as consumer protection, estate planning, immigration, rent and tax sale foreclosure clinics. Presenter: Sharon E. Goldsmith, Esq.

• Virginia Bar Association Pro Bono Council – serves clients seeking advice in such areas as family disputes, bankruptcy, housing and landlord-tenant disputes, advocacy for government benefits, access to health care, issues affecting seniors. Presenter: Brandi Howard

• DC Refers – provides opportunities for lawyers and mediators to serve persons of modest means (200-400% of the federal poverty guidelines). Presenter: Rhonda Cunningham Holmes

WOL-DC Table Talks are free to WOL members. Guests are welcome and for this event may also attend free of cost. Non-Members who are not guests will be charged a fee of $20.
