Hear from two seasoned women owned law firm owners, Cheryl Mullin and Sarah Marmor, and a former attorney turned legal recruiter, Valerie Phillips, who focuses on associate and counsel placements, on best practices and practical tips for attracting, managing and retaining top talent, especially in smaller firms.  The panel will be moderated by Virginia Essandoh, currently the Chief Diversity Officer of a large firm, and who advised various sizes and kinds of law firms – including women owned law firms – on issues such as talent management as a senior consultant for Altman Weil, Inc.  Topics to be discussed include:

  •  How do you recruit, attract and retain from an inclusive talent pool? 
  • Aligning talent with business needs: How do you find the “right” talent for your team?
  • Pros/cons of hiring directly v using a recruiter.
  • Benefits of temp to perm structure.
  • How can/should you structure compensation, benefits and work conditions to attract and retain this talent, especially millennial talent?
  • What else do you need to think about to attract and retain this talent?
