Women Owned Law Virtual Speaker Series

Stress is unavoidable; it is a part of life. In fact, we need a certain degree of stress in our daily lives. Too much stress causes frustration; too little stress results in boredom. In and of itself, stress is neither bad nor good. Our own personal reaction to stress creates either positive or negative results.

Although stress is often exacerbated by major and catastrophic events whether they be personal (death of a family member, loss of income, personal health issues, work-related pressures) or more global (pandemic, war, natural disasters), it is how we respond to those events that determines the impact stress has on our minds and bodies.

In this session, Dr. Karen Lawson will first help you to understand stress and recognize its symptoms. She will also address the major causes (in addition to COVID), and finally she will share with you some specific tips and techniques for handling stress – yours and others – in a more positive and productive manner.
